On April 11, 2018, representatives of the Organizing Committee of the BRICS YEA Summit in Moscow Alexander Kormishin and Alexandra Baryshnikova held a meeting with Olga Yudina, Deputy head of the Department of management of the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation, and Anna Lobanova, Deputy head of the Department of project management, energy saving and energy efficiency. The interaction between BRICS YEA and the Ministry of energy on the organization of  BRICS YEA Summit in Moscow was discussed.

During the meeting, the sides considered the development of the BRICS Youth Energy Association and the implementation of the annual BRICS YEA Summit during the Russian Energy Week 2018 (REW 2018) . The discussion touched upon a number of fundamental issues on the key topics of organization and holding BRICS YEA Summit and development of the association. The representatives of the Ministry of energy spoke about the work on the Action Plan of Russia’s Presidency in BRICS in 2020 and the role of the energy agenda in the multinational conversation of BRICS.  There was also expressed an idea of integrating the Forum #TogetherBrighter into the Action Plan of the BRICS YEA and promoting the forum within the association and BRICS member countries.

The representatives of the Ministry of energy confirmed the intention of Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn, which he had expressed  on the Youth day of Russian Energy Week 2017, to facilitate the preparation of the BRICS YEA Summit in Moscow, including the involvement of delegates and industry companies into the cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Summit. It was also agreed on that the representatives of the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation would take part in the BRICS YEA Summit as speakers and experts.
