Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance

BRICS is an intergovernmental alliance of 10 countries: Brasil, Russia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran and Indonesia.
The motto of Brazilian BRICS Presidency in 2025 is “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance.”
Brasil’s 2025 BRICS Presidency will focus on two priorities: (i) Global South Cooperation and (ii) BRICS Partnerships for Social, Economic and Environmental Development. Learn more about Brasil’s priorities here.
As part of its Presidency, Brasil holds over 50 events of various levels and focuses which will take place all across the country.
The BRICS Heads of State Summit will be held on 6-7 July 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 7th BRICS Youth Energy Summit will be held on 9-10 June in Brasilia, Brazil.
Since 2020, the BRICS Heads of State have mandated the
BRICS Youth Energy Summit as an annual event to address the matter of youth energy cooperation.
The summit has been organized by the BRICS Youth Energy Agency and a hosting ministry of energy with a broad network of partners and stakeholders from energy community.
Along with young energy professionals and experts, the Summit is attended by senior energy leaders from BRICS countries who ensure an intergenerational dialogue.
The summit also features representatives of international organizations who in partnership with BRICS YEA drive the youth empowerment in energy domain.
In 2025, the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil, the National Youth Secreatriat of the General Secretariat of the Brazilian Presidency and BRICS YEA hold the VII BRICS Youth Energy Summit.
The registration and nomination of official delegates will be open until March 31, 2025. In-person attendance is permitted subject to capacity availability: please apply for participation to enlist yourself in the attendance waiting list.
