Energy Summit

This year, Brazil leads the BRICS countries with the just energy transition and energy access being key policy priorities. All over the BRICS countries, youth is leading meaningful action to ensure a more inclusive and equitable energy transition. To bridge the gap between policy makers and youth experts and make the youth vision and policy recommendations heard and acknowledged, the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil, the National Youth Secreatriat of the General Secretariat of the Brazilian Presidency and BRICS YEA hold the 7th BRICS Youth Energy Summit.

The Summit will include:

  • Panel sessions and networking cafés with high-level BRICS officials and global policy makers working on energy transition;
  • Thematic sessions;
  • Technical site visit to an operating energy facility;
  • Soft launch of the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2025;
  • Access to the BRICS Youth Council meetings;
  • Socials and site-seeing in Brasilia neighborhood.
Requirements (not exclusive):
  • Age between 18-35;
  • Nationals of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India and Iran);
  • Experienced in thematic topics of the Summit, in particular energy transition, climate change, implementation of the United Nations SDG7, decarbonization, resource management, energy policy and administration;
  • Previous engagement with BRICS YEA is an added value.

Attendance mode:

  • Participation will be available in person;
  • The number of in-person program’s attendees is limited to 50 delegates due to security and administrative reasons.
  • Arrival date is June 8, 2025. Departure date is June 11, 2025. Attendance of all days of the program is compulsory!
  • All confirmed delegates have access to the Summit’s program and special festive events;
  • Delegates will have an opportunity to attend the technical energy site in the Brasilia neighborhood. The capacity is limited.
  • Please note that partial participation bursaries will be available only for country-nominated delegates according to the established nomination process.
  • Only successful applicants will be contacted after 15 April.

Waiting list for non-official delegates:

  • This year, the nomination process is different: national ministries of energy of the BRICS countries are in charge of nominating national youth delegations to attend the Summit.
  • If countries nominate less than 50 delegates, BRICS YEA at own discretion will reach out to offer accommodation to those candidates from the waiting list who self-fund their flights.

Please note that the Organizing Committee will provide the hotel title, where official delegations will be accommodated. The hotel will be a  4* accommodation next to venue. This information can be later used if you are a self-funded delegate with approved access to the venue.

Brazilian Visa Details

For non-Brazilian citizens resided beyond Brazil. Skip if you are resided in Brazil. Otherwise, please follow the next steps:

1. Do I need a visa to enter Brazil?

2. Can I issue a Brazilian E-Visa?

In order to enter Brazil, you need an entry visa. Currently Brazil provides e-visa and printed visa services. Please select your citizenship below or choose 'Other' to check if you can make use of an e-visa service.

Once you finish the application form, please proceed to https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/consulado-miami/information-about-visas-in-english/electronic-visitor-visa-e-visa and fill out the application form to request an entry visa to Brazil. The e-visa processing time does not exceed 4 working days. Please note that the Organizing Committee is not reimbursing the visa fee.

3. How can I issue a printed visa to Brazil?

  1. Collect the necessary documents
  2. Get in touch with the nearest embassy or consulate of Brazil to make an appointment. Submit the documents to the authority. Please note that you are applying for an Official Visa.

Documents list:

Requests for Diplomatic, Official and Courtesy Visas must be done in person at the Consulate-General of Brazil. Before coming to the Consulate, it is necessary to send an e-mail to the nearest Consulate to have an appointment with the following information:

  1. Name of the person responsible for the request (it can be the same person who is requesting the visa or a third party).
  2. Copy of his/her passport.

After scheduling the appointment, the following documents will be required for processing the visa request:

  1. Visa Request Form with the same signature of the passports and with a 2x2 inches photo. In order to fill the form, please access: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/cidadao-nacionalidade
  2. Originals and copies of the passports
  3. Verbal Note from the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil (provided by Organizers), detailing a) name(s); b) position/ rank(s); c) passport number and expiration date; d) brief description of the mission; e) name, address and phone number of a person of contact in Brazil.

The processing of the visa (s) takes from 3 (three) to 5 (five) business days.

Please request from org.summit2025@yeabrics.org an invitation letter. Note that the Organizing Committee is not reimbursing the visa fee.
