Let the journey begin

In 2021, the BRICS Youth puts a premium on the challenges of the global climate challenge and seeks for solutions to have their opinions considered within the mechanisms and fora under the UN FCCC. An essential part of achieving the climate goals by 2050 is the completion of the global energy transition, where the BRICS countries have the greatest potential, and therefore, the position of the younger generation is a basis for the succeeded joint climate action.

A special role in driving the ambitions of young people belongs to the BRICS Youth Energy Agency that promotes the youth vision of the five countries at the main events of the co-chairmanships of Italy and the UK, including PreCOP, COY16 and COP26.

The BRICS YEA as a leading international youth-led agency facilitates the Arctic Day of the COP26 Russian Federation Pavilion and together with the Arctic Council Presidency 2021-2023 announces the youth plans for the following years.

The BRICS YEA delegation to COY/COP is there within the both weeks of the 'climate' week in Glasgow. If you are willing to meet us and have a brief conversation or discuss possible partnership, please send us a request and we will find the time.

Meet us at COP26

The BRICS youth are gathering for their regular consultation to see the chances for deeper youth inclusion into the climate and energy policy advocacy through the CET Board introduced within the BRICS Youth Energy Agency and proposed guidelines for leveraging youth voices in national climate boards.

The EU-BRICS youth-led urban research campaign delivers their results at the COP26 Russian Federation Pavilion. Digital city environment, urban development, successful city management practices will be a part of the introduced youth solution to improve large cities’ energy mix.

COY16 aims to gather bright young leaders and activists attending COP26 with an ambition to deliver their vision to the decision makers and negotiators coming to Glasgow to decide how the global community will fight the climate change up to 2050 and beyond. Along with the greatest climate change impact potential for the future, the BRICS countries have the largest youth stakeholder group with their vision for the next decades. The session will be highlighting the stories of young people from the BRICS countries who have their say in the climate change action.

The Russian Energy Week International Forum traditionally becomes the place where young people from the BRICS countries announce their key plans on driving their agenda forward. This year, the younger generation of professionals join efforts to tackle the climate action.
