Russia together with BRICS YEA will host the VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit
BRICS Youth Energy Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and with support of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom is pleased to announce that it will host the VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit on 27-28 September in Moscow, Russia, as part of the Official Plan of the Russian BRICS Presidency 2024. The Summit will be held on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week 2024 at Manege Central Exhibition Hall just across the street from the Moscow Kremlin and will become one of key events of the BRICS Energy Week.
BRICS Youth Energy Summit is an annual forum held by BRICS YEA in partnership with a presiding country and its stakeholders in the energy sector. The Summit has been held since 2018 and has become one of the major platforms for youth not only to exchange ideas but also deliver their action on the BRICS energy cooperation. The last year’s summit has hit the records by accommodating over 400 delegates from above 30 countries, who discussed the BRICS solutions for Africa’s energy transition and enabling its energy access.
The VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit is held under the motto of ‘Just Energy Transition for the Next Generations’ and will focus on 6 themes: BRICS youth in just energy transition, Low and zero carbon energy innovations and strategies, Energy education and youth skills development for the energy transition, Nuclear technologies for a sustainable energy transition, mineral resource management for energy security, and sustainable energy for food systems. The themes are reflected in the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2024, which will be presented at the venue of the Summit.
The strategic partner of the sixth Summit is State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom.
The Summit is expected to accommodate 120 delegates from 30 countries with a total number of 1000 participants, and, of course, it will provide for a unique opportunity for BRICS young energy delegates to engage and interact with energy leaders and young professionals from the Russian Federation and abroad.
For the first time, the Summit will also hold the Energy Organizations Young Leaders Meeting which will unite leaders of youth energy communities and youth corporate councils. Just like in the previous years, the Summit will be a deep-dive into the host country’s energy landscape, and keynote experts and industry’s leaders of the Russian Federation will participate in the discussions along with BRICS young energy experts and leaders.
The delegates of the Summit will enjoy a cultural experience in Moscow, attending the brand new Atom Pavilion at the Russia EXPO Park, and will go on technical tours to see innovative energy infrastructure.
Registration for the Summit is available for national delegations and members of the BRICS YEA community by August 25, 2024 at the webpage of the Summit: https://yeabrics.org/en/summits/vi-brics-youth-energy-summit/. The BRICS YEA with support of its partners will distribute approximately 50 partial and full bursaries to attend the Summit, covering accommodation, round-trip flights and meals at the venue.
