This year, Russia leads the BRICS countries with the just energy transition and energy access being the key policy priorities. All over the Global South, youth are leading meaningful action to ensure a more inclusive and equitable energy transition. To bridge the gap between policy makers and youth experts and make the youth vision and policy recommendations heard and acknowledged, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation together with the BRICS Youth Energy Agency and support of Rosatom are hosting the 6th BRICS Youth Energy Summit.

The Summit will include:

  • Panel sessions and networking cafés with high-level UN, BRICS, and global policy makers working on energy transition and climate change;
  • Thematic workshops on BRICS Youth in
    Just Energy Transition, Low and Zero Carbon Energy Innovations and Strategies, Energy Education and Youth Skills Development for the Energy Transition, Nuclear Technologies for a Sustainable Energy Transition, Mineral Resource Management for Energy Security, Sustainable Energy for Food Systems;
  • Technical site visit to an operating energy facility;
  • Presentation of the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2024;
  • Energy Organizations Young Leaders Meeting;
  • Access to the Russian Energy Week International Forum
  • Socials and site-seeing in Moscow neighborhood.
Requirements (not exclusive):
  • Age between 18-35;
  • Nationals of BRICS countries (Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India and Iran) and countries of the Global South, representatives of BRICS YEA’s partner organizations;
  • Experienced in thematic topics of the Summit, in particular energy transition, climate change, implementation of the United Nations SDG7, decarbonization, resource management, energy policy and administration;
  • Previous engagement with BRICS YEA is an added value.

Attendance mode:

  • Participation will be available both in person and online;
  • The number of in-person program’s attendees is limited to 120 delegates due to security and administrative reasons.
  • Arrival date is September 26, 2024. Departure date is September 29, 2024. Attendance of all days of the program is compulsory!
  • All confirmed delegates have access to the Summit’s program and special festive events;
  • Delegates will have an opportunity to attend the technical energy site in the Moscow neighborhood. The capacity is limited. The selection of delegates will be arranged upon the first come, first served principle in the registration form.
  • Organizers cover a limited quote of delegates (accommodation, flights and transport) on a competitive selection basis.

Bursaries:

  • The organizers will distribute 50 bursaries that will cover accommodation, flights, meals at the venue;
  • Please indicate if you are willing to compete for a bursary in the Application Form. If you are ready to compete for a bursary while being ready to cover personal expenses on your own, please indicate so in the Expression of Interest.

Please note that the Organizing Committee will provide a list of hotels with reduced rates for the delegates of the Summit. Those, who have been approved an accommodation bursary, will be accommodated in a hotel 3* or 4* located next to Moscow Metro in 20 minute reach to the venue.

Please note that this information will be used subject to approval of a flight bursary. Please note that in this case flight tickets will be procured from the nearest airport in your country to the airports in Moscow neighborhood. Please note that in order to accommodate the maximum number of guests, the Organizing Committee holds the right to procure tickets with waiting time in the transit zone up to 6 hours.

Russian Visa Details

For non-Russian citizens resided beyond Russia. Skip if you are resided in Russia. Otherwise, please follow the next steps:

1. Do I need a visa to enter Russia?

Please check if you need a visa to enter the Russian Federation. Select your citizenship in the list below or choose 'Other'.

2. Can I issue a Russian E-Visa?

In order to enter Russia, you need an entry visa. Currently the Russian Government provides e-visa and printed visa services. Please select your citizenship below or choose 'Other' to check if you can make use of an e-visa service.

Once you finish the application form, please proceed to https://evisa.kdmid.ru/ and fill out the application form to request an entry visa to Russia. The e-visa processing time does not exceed 4 working days. Please note that the Organizing Committee is not reimbursing the visa fee.

Please note that E-visa applicants are not required to submit an invitation letter, hotel booking confirmation or any other document confirming the purpose of their travel to the Russian Federation.

3. How can I issue a printed visa to Russia?

  1. Collect the necessary documents
  2. Get in touch with the nearest embassy or consulate of the Russian Federation to make an appointment. Submit the documents to the authority. Please note that you are applying for a Humanitarian Visa.

  • 2 photographs measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm (either black and white or color) with a clear full-face image of the face without glasses with tinted lenses and without a headdress (except for foreign citizens for whom constant wearing of a headdress is a mandatory attribute of their nationality or religious affiliation, provided that the foreign citizen is depicted wearing such a headdress in the passport photo).

  • A personal invitation of the Organizing Committee to attend the BRICS Youth Energy Summit

Security Checks for High-Level Segment

Please note that due to security procedure of the venue, all the delegates are required to proceed through the registration of Roscongress Foundation, a state appointed operator of the events held under the Russian BRICS Presidency 2024. Please proceed to the following steps:

  1. Get registered on the website of Roscongress Foundation following the link: https://reg.roscongress.org/en/login/.
  2. Once registered, please proceed to 'Events'
  3. At the bottom of the page, find "Russian Energy Week" and click on it
  4. Click on the button 'Registration'
  5. Choose the participation package mode 'Youth Day Participant' and fill out the rest of the registration form
  6. Receive a confirmation e-mail from the Russian Energy Week Organizing Committee.

Please note that without the security checks, you will not be able to attend high-segment meeting of the Summit.
