Arina Dulepova, Head of BRICS YEA South Africa Energy Research, has multistage selection successfully passed and the Expert Commission approved her candidacy for the position of the UN Sustainable Development Envoy in Russia «Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all» in 2019.
The competitive selection regularly takes place in a number of Un countries, and this is the second time it has been held in Russia. The selection is carried out by the National Youth Council of Russia with the support and assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, UN Information Centre in Moscow, Moscow State Institute of Foreign Affairs.
Students and young activists from the whole country took part in the competition, but only 17 candidates managed to pass the selection.
Arsenyi Kirgizov-Barsky, the Head of BRICS YEA SDG7 Platform, was the first UN SDG7 Envoy in Russia. He achieved great success in revitalisation of his peers to deal with the key problems of the mankind. We are certain, Arina will work with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
This Programm is aimed at mobilisation of the youth in Russia, which should contribute to effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, adopted on September 25th, 2015 by UN members.
