BRICS YEA and UN MGCY SDG 7 Youth Constituency have conducted “Eco-friendly and Efficient Transport and Buildings” Webinar as part the series of webinars with leading experts and youth practitioners of the campaign “From BRICS with SDG♡”.
The key expert of the webinar, Mr. Johannes Urpelainen, Director of the Sustainable Energy Policy Initiative, Johns Hopkins University (USA), delivered a presentation on “Sustainable mobility for emerging countries”. Mr. Urpelainen analyzed the feasibility of the development of electric cars in order to make transport more environmentally friendly. The expert noted that switching to electric cars does not fully solve the problem of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
This was followed by presentations by youth practitioners. Ms. Natalie Chung, co-founder of V’Air Hong Kong from China, in the first part of her speech focused on the topic of energy efficiency, and then addressed the case of environmentally friendly transport and buildings in the City of Hong Kong. An economic life cycle As analysis specialist Mr. Pranav Sinha from India covered energy security and sustainable economic growth in India.
